Diagnostics

Read device information, scan a line, and find devices in programming mode.

Diagnostics needs a connection and Allow sending, because the services put telegrams on the bus. They only use read services and nothing is written to a device. You do not need a project, but with one open the results are compared with it.

Device information

Enter a device address (for example 1.1.21) and click Read. The answer lists the mask version (and its name), the manufacturer, the serial number, the order information and whether the device is in programming mode. Anything the device does not answer is listed under Not available. The On the bus tab of a device does the same read for that device. If the mask version is not one Tinkerbus knows, Unknown mask: tell the project opens a report.

Line scan

Enter a line (for example 1.1) and a range of device numbers (0 to 255 by default), then Scan…. You are asked to confirm: for each address the tool opens and closes a connection (T_Connect and T_Disconnect), and nothing is written. The confirmation text shows how many addresses will be checked and the estimated time. Use Stop to stop.

When the project has devices on that line, the result compares the answers with the project: devices of the project that did not answer, and devices that answered but are not in the project. Show only differences hides the matches. Click a row to use its address for device information.

Programming mode

Find devices asks which devices have their programming mode on, that is the devices whose programming button was pressed and whose programming LED is on. Useful to identify a device. Click a row to use its address.

Scans of lines other than 1.1 have not been tested on hardware.
