Network

The topology map and the path group addresses take through lines and couplers.

The Network section draws the areas, main lines and line boxes of the project with their devices and couplers, as in a KNX topology diagram. Zoom with the + and - buttons, pan by dragging, and use Fit to show everything.

Following a group address

The panel on the right lists the group addresses that two or more devices use. Click one, or click a device on the map, to see:

  • For a group address: its data type, the devices that use it and whether each sends, receives or both, and the Paths between lines, the way its telegrams take from each sender to each receiver (device, line, coupler, main line, area coupler, backbone). If all devices are on one line, the telegrams do not leave it.
  • For a device: the group addresses it shares with other devices, and with how many devices.

The filter box narrows the list of group addresses.

Limits

  • The layout and routing logic are covered by unit tests. Drawing of several lines and areas was checked with synthetic data, because the sample project has one line.
  • Filter tables of couplers are not evaluated on this map. Every telegram is assumed to pass. For the filter table of a coupler, see Routing preview.
  • Telegrams are not shown live on the map.
  • The map cannot be exported as an image yet.
